Reclamation works at Pulau Ular...my thoughts ater reading Debb's blog
Just came back from white and black manta open house, was very impressed with the luxurious black manta especially. Was quite happy, until this....and was feeling so depressed and sad for what will happened to our reef.
I was reading about the recent post on Hantu Blogger's blog. It's about the last look at Terumbu Bayan, reef north of Hantu. The more I read, the more sad I felt. It's like this healthy living reefs will be gone forever because of the reclamation and my heart aches for it, so much so that I have penned down my thoughts. I always wanted to do more for our nature and since I'm a diver, even more so for our precious reef.
Looked at the beautiful stuff you can find (see her blog...www.pulauhantu.org), there are so many "babies" that have not even hatched! The countless nemos and cowries with no chance at all.....doesn't it make you feel so sad and sorry that we are losing the reef. I sure hope more people can see this and more people can gather our forces to help in conserving OUR reefs.
I hope the project NOAH will do something to preserve our present reef and NOT do something artificial and try to create a man made reef in the man made lagoon of Hantu. They should look around Hantu and do something about it, otherwise I feel what they do is pointless and superficial....
